Saturday’s NEFF Open Day proved something we’ve noticed time and again: most people don’t use half the features their kitchen appliances actually have.

Chef Ann Reynolds spent the day demonstrating NEFF’s latest range in our York showroom, cooking Mini beef Yorkshire Puddings, Salmon, Red lentil Dhal, different cakes including Bakewell Tart and chocolate fudge that disappeared in minutes! and showing exactly how the technology works in real cooking situations – not just what the brochure says.

What Stood Out?

The demonstrations weren’t about fancy cooking techniques. They were about showing how accessible NEFF’s features actually are once someone takes the time to explain them properly.

Slide & Hide doors that give you proper access to your oven without a door swinging out into your workspace. CircoTherm technology that cooks evenly across multiple shelves without rotating trays. Induction hobs that respond instantly to temperature changes.

One attendee mentioned she’d just had her NEFF oven installed with her new kitchen and never realised half the features it had until Saturday. Others who’d owned NEFF appliances for years had no clue their ovens could connect to their phones by downloading the NEFF app.

That’s exactly what these events are for.

Why We Run These Demonstrations?

After installing kitchens for over a decade, we’ve noticed a pattern. Clients invest in premium appliances, use them for months or even years, and then discover a feature that would have made their lives easier all along.

The proving function that transforms bread baking. The warming drawer that’s perfect for dinner parties. The precise temperature control that prevents overcooking. The connectivity features that let you control your oven from another room.

These aren’t gimmicks – they’re genuinely useful functions that most people simply don’t know about.

Our bi-annual cookery demonstrations solve that problem. Clients see the appliances working in real time, ask questions about their specific cooking challenges, and leave understanding what they’ve actually invested in.

More Than Just Cooking

Luke and Clare spent Saturday giving 1-to-1 design advice to people considering new kitchens. Some were in the early planning stages. Others were ready to move forward with projects they’d been thinking about for months.

Becky coordinated everything – scheduling demonstrations and making sure everyone got to taste the food and ask their questions.

That’s how these events work best. Education without pressure. Real cooking, real conversations, real understanding of what modern kitchen appliances can actually do.

What Attendees Said

The feedback came in two forms.

First, from people who’d attended specifically to learn about their existing NEFF appliances. They left with a better understanding of features they’d been missing and techniques they could try at home.

Second, from people who were exploring options for future kitchen projects. Several mentioned the demonstration completely changed their appliance priorities – they’d been focusing on aesthetics without realising how much difference the technology makes to everyday cooking.

Both groups left with recipes from Chef Ann’s demonstration. Everything she cooked on Saturday can be recreated at home using the same NEFF appliances and techniques.

The Technology That Impressed People

CircoTherm

NEFF’s fan system that distributes heat evenly throughout the oven. You can cook multiple dishes on different shelves simultaneously without flavours mixing or results varying. No rotating trays halfway through. No hot spots.

Slide & Hide

The door that slides underneath the oven cavity instead of swinging out. Gives you proper access without burning yourself on a door or rearranging your kitchen layout to accommodate the swing.

Induction Precision

Hobs that respond immediately to temperature changes. Pan recognition that only heats where cookware sits. Bridge functions that connect zones for oversized pans without hot spots.

App Connectivity

Control your oven from your phone. Preheat on your way home. Adjust temperatures without opening the door. Get notifications when cooking’s complete.

Most people had heard about these features. Seeing them work in real cooking situations made the difference.

Already Planning the Next One?

These demonstrations work too well not to run regularly.

We’re already planning our next NEFF event. Different dishes, same approach – real cooking that shows what the appliances can actually do, with plenty of opportunity to ask questions and taste the results.

If you’d like to attend the next one, the best way is to join our mailing list. We send details out well in advance so you can book your free ticket before spaces fill up. More Photos and videos from Saturday’s event are on our Instagram and Facebook if you want to see what happened.
